Boy, 17, Stabs Mum To Death After She Told Him Off For Watching Too Much TV

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for stabbing histo death because she told him off for watching too much television.

The incident took place in the town of Jepara in the Indonesian province of Central Java on Sunday afternoon (19th September).

Police spokesperson Fachrur Rozi said the teenager, identified only by his initials M. F., was watching telly when his 34-year-old mother, identified only as S. M., told him off for dropping out of school, being unemployed, and wasting his time in front of the screen.

Rozi added that the boy’s father was not at home when the attack took place.

After being scolded by his young mum, the teen allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed her in the stomach.

Rozi said the boy was immediately remorseful, running outside to ask neighbours for help.

His mother was taken to hospital, but she died of her injury later that evening.

Even after he stabbed her, S.M. tried to protect her son by telling him to invent a lie about what had happened, according to local media reports.

She is quoted as having said to him: “A mother’s love knows no bounds, tell your father I was stabbed by an insane person who entered the house.”

The police said the teen asked for help from neighbours while claiming his mother had been attacked by a crazy man.

However, the teen’s neighbours did not believe him and reported the incident to the police.

The boy later confessed under questioning that he had stabbed his own mother, according to reports.
