A mum-to-be escaped a frenzied knife attack by her ex when she leapt from a second-floor window and crashed through a roof below to land on a child’s trampoline.

The astonishing escape came when her former partner broke into her home in Rio das Ostras, Brazil, and stabbed and kicked the woman, whose identity has been withheld by police.

After being stabbed repeatedly, the four-months-pregnant woman threw herself out of a window.

Gruesome images of the crime scene show a wickedly serrated-edged knife smeared with what seems to be blood.

Astonishingly, she smashed straight through a patio roof and fell onto a children’s trampoline, bouncing harmlessly to safety, reported local media.

She was rescued and taken to A&E, while her 37-year-old attacker was seized by police as he tried to flee the scene on a motorbike on 22nd December.

He confessed to having tried to kill his ex, who had an active restraining order against him, local media said.

He was booked for attempted child destruction, attempted femicide, and breaching a restraining order.

He has since been sent to a prison in Campos dos Goytacazes on remand.

The woman’s life is out of danger, according to reports.
