Book fans have created a series of Lego scenes involving popular author and recent Nobel Literature winner Olga Tokarczuk.
The initiative was the brainchild of three men dubbed AFOL (Adult Fans of Lego) who wanted to honour the 57-year-old Polish academic and author of ‘Flights’ after she won the 2018 Nobel Prize in Literature last week.
Toy photographer Tomek Skog shared images of the Lego scenes on Instagram with the message: “Yesterday, Olga Tokarczuk, a Polish writer, received a Nobel Prize in Literature.
“It is great news as Olga is an outstanding writer. Her writing interests revolve around myths, history, philosophy, mystery and story itself. Congratulations Ms. Tokarczuk!”
Reports said that Tokarczuk include the images on her social media accounts.
Polish teacher Staron said on social media: “I almost finished the Lego Olga Tokarczuk mini-figure when I was overtaken by Tomek Skog! But it only motivated me to finish mine.
“I love you Olga Tokarczuk, a tender singer of fairy tales, myths and stories.”
A larger, more detailed model was created by Lego master builder Robert Tyborski who said he started work on the figure while listening to the writer’s Nobel speech in Stockholm.
Tokarczuk became the 15th woman to ever win the Nobel Prize in Literature and the fifth Polish recipient of the award.
Her latest novel ‘Flights’ won the Booker Prize for the best work of a translated fiction last year, the first time a Polish author has received the award.
