The body recovered has been identified as belonging to David Garcia, who was an officer of the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan police) and who was travelling on board of the aircraft with Marc Francesch, president of Junts Per Catalunya (nationalist political party) in Tarragona province.

The aircraft was found at a depth of 113 meters (370 feet) and the rescue was carried out thanks to the use of a submarine robot ROV Comanche, specialized in this kind of operations, according to a Spanish Civil Guard press statement obtained by Newsflash.

The remains of the aircraft were also lifted to the surface and recovered.

The radar lost track of the aircraft around 30 miles from the Ebro Delta on 3rd November.

Fishermen in the area later discovered the body of Marc Francesch floating in the water on 11th of November.

After that Spanish Army experts discover the aircraft located at the bottom of the sea and confirm that the second passenger was still inside.

Recovery operations were delayed however because of bad weather with the body and the wreck finally being recovered yesterday (Tuesday).

The remains of the vehicle were taken to the port of Tarragona.

The investigation is ongoing to find out the reasons for the accident.
