This the moment two suspected gang members throw a bag containing the dead body of a gangland rival from a pickup truck onto a rubbish tip and then stamp on it while the person filming from a nearby car laughs.
The incident took place in the colony Antorchista, in the city of Culiacan, in the western Mexican state of Sinaloa when two alleged members of an unnamed gang were recorded disposing of a body at what appears to be a fly-tipping site.
In the clip, the two unidentified men can be seen throwing the bag, which appears to be in the shape of a human body, from the pickup truck onto an area packed with rubbish.
One of the men then begins kicking the bag as the onlooker recording, also reportedly a member of the gang, laughs.
The body inside the bag has been identified as that of Carlos Vladimir, 22, who had been kidnapped by an armed gang in the area of Altura del Sur on the same day the video was uploaded (Sunday).
The body was found the following day in the flytipping area on a road which connects the town of Huizaches, in the colony of Antorchista, to the city of Culiacan.
The Mayor of Culiacan, Jesus Estrada Ferreiro, said the recording was a “challenge to the authorities”.
A government report in January showed that 61,637 people are missing in Mexico. Sinaloa state reportedly had the most clandestine graves in the country, with 115 people having been found in 2019.
It is unclear if any arrests have been made in the case.
