(starts)

This is the moment police officers shoot an armed suspect who had demanded to jump the queue at an auto repair shop because he was on the run for murder.

Suspect Adrian Abelar, 25, drove into the garage in Rosemead, California state, USA, saying he needed repair work done immediately because police had a murder warrant out on him.

After the terrified garage owner secretly called police, Abelar was shot in a struggle when he emerged from the black Mazda with a Ruger 9mm pistol in his hand.

Newsflash obtained body-worn footage from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department along with a statement that said the incident took place on 19th October 2021 but was shared by the Sheriff’s Office on Friday, 30th September.

The incident reportedly began after the Temple Sheriff’s station received a call about Abelar’s bizarre claims.

Two deputies approached Abelar’s car and can be seen quizzing him about his identity and the identity of a female passenger.

Abelar did not have identification and provided false identifying information to the deputies.

After speaking to Abelar for a few minutes, deputies ordered him to step out of the vehicle.

But as one of the deputies opened the driver’s door he suddenly pushed it open armed with the gun in his right hand.

The deputy can be heard yelling “Gun gun gun” and then struggles to wrestle it from Abelar.

Then as they both fall to the ground a single shot can be heard followed by a yelp of pain from the suspect.

Abelar reportedly sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper body and was taken into custody.

He was then taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injury, according to the statement.

There were no other persons injured in the incident.

Baffled police later confirmed that Abelar did not have a warrant for murder out on him, but he is wanted for a felony probation violation.
