This is the shocking moment a biker high on drink and drugs rams a woman so hard she flies through the air and brings down another pedestrian.
The two women – both chefs on their way home from work – were crossing the road in Campinas, Sao Paulo state, Brazil, on June 21.
CCTV footage of the collision shows a 42-year-old woman right beside a crossing as a high powered bike speeds down the road.
It hits her without even slowing down, sending her flying through the air where she hits her 27-year-old relative – who worked with her – knocking her down.
She died of massive injuries from the high speed collision.
Local media reports that the 23-year-old biker was arrested after he admitted to police that he’d been drinking and taking drugs.
The 27-year-old pedestrian is in hospital with a serious head injury.
The women were walking home from work when they were hit by the intoxicated biker, according to local media.
When police arrived, they found only pieces of the motorbike scattered along the road, but were able to identify it as a high-capacity BMW model.
The suspect had reportedly tried to flee the scene with his girlfriend, but was quickly found and arrested by police.
At the police station, the biker failed a breathalyser test and admitted to drinking and taking drugs before getting on his motorcycle, say local reports.
Police also learned that his driver’s licence had expired.
He now faces charges of manslaughter, drink-driving, and possession of narcotics.
The police investigation is ongoing.
