This is the moment a man inexplicably runs out from the pavement onto the road and straight into the side of a moving bus, knocking himself out cold.
Local media speculate that the man may have been high on drugs when he carried out the bizarre act, which was caught on CCTV.
The incident took place in the municipality of Nova Ipixuna in the northern Brazilian state of Para in the early hours of Sunday, 25th July.
The footage shows how the man psychs himself up by doing little jumps on the spot in front of three men waiting on the pavement with their motorbikes.
When the opportune moment arrives, he then runs into the middle of the road and straight into a moving bus, knocking himself to the asphalt road head-first.
The bystanders seem surprised by the man’s actions and they are joined by two other curious onlookers as the injured man comes to his senses and writhes around slowly on the ground.
None of the bystanders are seen coming to the injured man’s assistance, however, and this did not go unnoticed by netizens.
One Facebook user commented: “He must have been such a good person that no one cared.”
The identity of the injured man is unknown, though he appears relatively young. He is seen carrying an object in one hand in the footage, possibly a bottle, though it is not clear.
It is not known if he suffered serious injuries in his collision with the bus or if he was taken to hospital.
