Bikers Plunges Over Edge Of Flyover As Bike Carrys On

This is shocking moment a biker accidentally falls over the edge of a flyover and plunges tens of metres to his death as his motorcycle carries on without him.

The incident happened on the North-South Elevated Road in China’s eastern port city of Shanghai today (7th May).

The dashcam footage shows the green motorbike having been driven onto the motorway and travelling along a slip road at an interchange.

However, the rider who is around 20 years of age, and who has yet to be named, strays inexplicably to the left until he collides with the crash barrier.

The impact throws the young rider off his motorbike, and the video shows him disappearing over the edge of the motorway.

According to local authorities, the rider plunges “tens of metres” towards the road below, landing on the roof of number 528 bus before falling onto the ground.

He was declared dead at the scene, with authorities yet to release any information regarding the victim’s identity.

Shanghai traffic police said motorcycles are forbidden on motorways and riders can be fined 200 RMB (22 GBP) and given three demerit points for the offence.
