A woman has died after she and her husband were attacked by a swarm of bees which flew into their moving car through an open window.

Luciana Costa Dias, 47, and husband Jose Ferreira Filho, 54, had left their flat in Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, when the bizarre invasion happened on 23rd December.
As they drove away in their Fiat Uno, a swarm of bees suddenly rushed in through the open window.
Local media report that the driver was so badly stung he lost control and crashed into a street post.
His wife fled the vehicle but passed out when she was stung repeatedly by the angered bees.
Passersby who witnessed the situation, immediately alerted the Fire Department and SAMU (Mobile Emergency Attendance Service) who arrived at the scene at around 1pm.

Jose was transferred to the UPA (Emergency Care Unit), while his wife Luciana was admitted to the Hospital da Vida.
She reportedly died later that night from anaphylactic shock, a severe allergic reaction to the stings.
The tragic story shocked social media users in Brazil.
Facebook user Zeni De Freitas da Silva said: “What a horror!”
User Rubia Lima then commented: “Horrible death, my condolences to the family.”
Another user named Thiago Calado said: “My condolences to the family… It’s really very dangerous, I’ve already been through the same situation and God saved me.”

Brazil – currently going through its summer season like the rest of the southern hemisphere – is ideal for bee swarms in December with high temperatures and sunny skies.
