A young mum has been questioned by cops after she allegedly beat this tiny one-month-old baby leaving him with these horrific injuries before going out partying.

The 19-year-old, who was not named, told cops that the child had been crying constantly but insists he was in good health when she left him alone for what police say was a 24-hour outing.

The young woman was staying in what was described as a “social hostel” for women in difficult circumstances in the historic city of Rivne in western Ukraine , which is located in the region of Volhynia, and had shut the door and locked it.

Local media said the baby was barely breathing when she was found by another woman in the hostel, who asked a supervisor to let them into the closed room to see if everything was okay. They had heard the baby’s cries slowly getting weaker before they eventually stopped.

Tatyana Primak, whose age was not given, and who was one of the women staying at the hospital and found the baby, told local media: “When we went into the room, the child was in her crib. She had injuries on her injuries, there was blood in her nose, bruising, and she was struggling to breathe. The injuries were so shocking that one girl who also came into the room fainted.”

The baby that is under a month old was identified by her first name Nikita and is currently being treated in the local intensive care ward in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast region.

Medics said they were shocked by the injuries, and by the alleged signs of maltreatment on the baby including the fact that she had clearly not been properly fed and was suffering from severe nappy rash from unchanged diapers and also from previous violence.

When she returned the next day more than 24 hours later, she was arrested by police who say she had been out partying based on the fact they had spoken to the man she went on a date with.

The teenager however insisted that she had left the child in good health and rushed round her sister, who also had a baby that was sick and whom she had offered to help.

She said that the baby’s constant crying had left her feeling very stressed.

Police said that the teen mum already has a three-year-old child from a previous relationship, and that the child had been taken into care because of violence.

She is currently under pre-trial investigation on suspicion of child abuse while police investigate whether she was the person who caused the injuries.

She has since been released pending further inquiries.

She faces up to 5 years in jail if convicted over the alleged offence.
