This is the moment three burly bailiffs pull a driver out of a car and then trap his hand in the door as he jumps up and down in pain.

The startling scene, said to be a vehicle repossession, was recorded by an onlooker in the city of Johor Bahru in the state of Johor in western Malaysia.

The unnamed driver, 33, had just left a restaurant with his wife and started his Toyota Hilux when three men walked up to the vehicle.

In the video, the burly trio can be seen pulling the driver out of the car before one them tries to climb into the vehicle.

The driver tries to stop him but the other two men hold him back. The car door appears to close on his hand and he struggles to free it. Luckily the door opens again releasing his hand shortly before the vehicle begins to pull away.

Despite the obvious pain from his injured hand the man and his wife both try to pull the door open but the vehicle begins pulling away.

Incredibly he then manages to climb onto the side of the vehicle, and reportedly managed to stay there for 8 kilometres before it finally stopped and he was thrown off.

The other two men involved in the repossessing the car run to try to keep up with it, with one of them seemingly getting inside as the other runs away.

He has filed a police report into the incident, as has one of the three men, according to local police chief Mohd Taib Ahmad.

Ahmad said the owner suffered minor injuries in the incident and an investigation into causing voluntary hurt while committing a robbery and rash driving had been launched.

It is unclear if any arrests have been made in the case.
