This Ukrainian model and high jump champion has been arrested after she allegedly mowed down a pregnant woman while driving her boyfriend’s SUV without a licence.

Model Olga Ladyga, 25, who recently fronted a local campaign called “Fitness Mom”, was arrested for running over the unnamed 31-year-old pregnant woman on Ozernaya street in her native city of Mykolaev in south-central Ukraine’s Mykolaiv Oblast region.

Reports say that the former athlete was driving her boyfriend’s Mitsubishi Pajero when the woman, who was seven months pregnant, was crossing the street in front of her.

The car reportedly rammed into the woman and dashcam footage shows the SUV coming to a halt with the victim motionless on the ground behind her.

Distressed onlookers can be seen walking up the woman on the ground but local media report she died at the scene.

The on-duty cops requested Ladyga’s driver’s license but she said that she had forgotten it. However, reports state she later confessed that she has never had one.

Ladyga has been arrested and placed in pre-trial detention for 60 days, with reports saying she faces between three and eight years in prison if found guilty.

She was a junior national champion in the high jump in 2012 and 2013 and is one of the founders and leaders of a project called Fitness Mom.

Netizen ‘Lena Lindt’ said: “This stupid woman has killed two innocent souls.”

‘Roman Obarenchuk’ remarked: “So she has no problem training for high jumping, but she was lazy enough to spend six months at a driving school? I think this is just nonsense.”
