This is the moment British soldiers set up COVID-19 testing booths in Liverpool last night in preparation for the mass testing starting today (Friday 6 November).

Using the hashtag ‘Let’s Get Tested’, Liverpool City Council posted the clip on social media with the message: “Soldiers have worked through the night to get our city’s testing centres ready.

“Anyone who lives, works or learns in Liverpool can now get a #COVID19 test – even if you don’t have symptoms.”

The local authorities have rolled out numerous test centres across Liverpool to encourage residents to test themselves for the novel coronavirus.

Anyone with virus symptoms can still be tested at existing medical centres and mobile testing units.

All the new centres will offer walk-ins while bookings can be made online or via the NHS COVID-19 app.
