A man arrested for killing a schoolgirl had bloodstains on his shoes and clothing and had searched ‘how to kill a person’ on google the day before he allegedly killed his girlfriend’s 14-year-old sister.

Lia Isis Vasquez, 14, was found murdered inside a room of a residence in the Pujol II neighbourhood located in the Argentine city of Puerto Madryn in the Chubut province on Friday 13th November.

She was found with stab injuries in her neck and hands which lead investigators to believe she put up a fight during the attack.

Cops detained a man named Gabriel Orellana, 22, as the main suspect of the murder given that he had a relationship with the victim’s sister and that he had earlier threatened he would kill her entire family, according to a statement by the Puerto Madryn Public Prosecutor’s Office.

It added that police also found Orellana had looked up ‘how to kill a person’ or ‘the weak points to kill a person’ on google with his mobile phone the day before the murder.

There have been no reports on what could have lead to the murder or the threats against the victim’s sister and her family.

Puerto Madryn prosecutor Jorge Burgueno, who is leading the case, said: “The chosen classification is femicide in concurrence with transversal femicide all in concurrence with homicide during a robbery which has an expected and indeed only sentence of life imprisonment.”

The murder took place inside a residence which also has a business attached to it where police found some money had been stolen. It is believed this was taken by Orellana.

Burgueno explained ‘transversal femicide’ is applied when there is a definitive intention to make a woman suffer, which in this case, was the victim’s sister.

Local media report Orellana was found with what appeared to be bloodstains on his shoes and arms at the moment of his arrest.

Authorities also conducted two raids and seized a jacket presumably belonging to Orellana with what also appeared to be bloodstains on it along with a backpack and mobile phones.

The 22-year-old has been placed in preventative detention and the prosecution has four months to finish preparing their case against him.
