The incident was filmed in the city of Conway in the US state of Arkansas, and the footage was shared yesterday (16 November).

The Conway Police Department (CPD) said on Twitter: “Officer Carson Howard with your CPD arrived at the scene of a house engulfed in flames, and without regard for his own safety he immediately ran into the burning home.

“He led two people and their dog out to safety. He’s a great example of selflessness and the heartbeat behind the badge!”

In the body-cam footage, the cop is seen getting out of his patrol car and sprinting towards the burning house while asking bystanders: “Is there still one?”

Without hesitation, Officer Howard dashes into the house and identified himself to the occupants.

A sobbing woman calls out: “Oh my God.”

The cop then helps out an apparently elderly man and woman with a dog from the living room.
