This is the moment airport security staff push a top government official who was reportedly drunk through the terminal on a luggage trolley with his legs dragging on the floor and he has now been sacked.
The bizarre incident took place at Vnukovo International Airport, located 28 kilometres (17 miles) away from the Russian capital Moscow and was recorded on a smartphone camera by an onlooker.
The footage shows two security guards walking through the airport hall pushing a luggage trolley with the seemingly drunk man noisily lying on it.
The man’s legs are dragging on the floor as the guards push him through the terminal building.
Local media report that the incident took place at the end of 2019 and the drunk man was one of the top regional managers of Rostechnadzor, the ecological and technological watchdog of Russia, named as Alexander Podkolzin, 40.
He was reportedly so aggressive that cops had to handcuff him, however, there is no video proof of that incident.
Reports state Podkilzin’s manager Sergey Galynin was also detained for being drunk.
Local police investigated the incident after the video was posted online and found the airport security staff had not committed any violations.
Netizen ‘Smutyanka’ said: “This is just nuts my friends.”
Another one ‘Drone1’ added: “What a dangerous beast, folks. People like him should be transported in a cage.”
While ‘akela82’ commented: “I think they should have called doctors to check on him.”
Russian media report that Alexander Podkolzin was sacked following the video of him leaking online.
There is speculation that Podlozkin may have expressed his desire to resign shortly prior to being sacked, however, this information has not been confirmed.
The decision to remove him from his position was reportedly made on 20 January, his boss Sergey Galynin has remained in his position.
