Aerial View Of The Poso Fire That Has Been Burning For Two Weeks

CARSON NATIONAL FOREST, NEW MEXICO- The Poso fire which started two weeks ago is still active. The view of the Poso Fire that started by lightning in Carson National Forest, New Mexico on 29th May was recorded from the aerial firing helicopter and was shared by US Forest Service yesterday (13 June). US Forest Service report that the Fire is still active. The video shows the fire burning on the ground over a large wooded area, putting out dense smoke. According to the forest staff, the fire is not really dangerous as long as it burns below the canopy, clearing the underbrush on the forest floor. During the flame, fire managers are taking this opportunity to manage this fire to meet multiple resource objectives. These objectives create a fire resilient buffer to protect the surrounding communities from the future threat of catastrophic wildfires and forest health.
