This is the adorable sea turtle which rescued after it was spotted floating in the sea with injuries reportedly caused by a boat propeller.

The loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) was rescued by members of the Society of Sports Fishermen and Divers Zubatac (DSRR Zubatac) in the municipality of Vela Luka on the island of Korcula in Croatia in the Adriatic Sea.

DSRR Zubatac member Andjela Scepanovic said: “It was confirmed that the animal was injured, so we took it out of the sea, got it warm and prepared it for the road.

“Some injuries can be seen on her, but she is still alive and we hope she will make it.”

In the video, the injured turtle can be seen on a dock as onlookers gather round and one even strokes its neck.

The female turtle, whose injuries are believed to have been caused by a propeller, has been sent to the Centre for the Recovery of Sea Turtles in the city of Pula in Croatia.

DSSR Zubatac’s ‘Reciklaza u Ambalazi’ (Recycling in Packaging) project told Central European News (CEN): “We are waiting for news from Pula, we have sent her (the turtle) on the road. We hope she will be fine.”

The loggerhead sea turtle is considered a vulnerable species by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Netizen ‘Marija Petkovic’ commented: “Bravo – give her a chance to live.”
