A BRIDGE TOO FLAWED: Demolition Workers Fall Through Bridge They Were Drilling

This is the cartoon moment when two excavators drill through a concrete bridge despite being on top of it – then come crashing to the ground when it snaps.

The bizarre blunder took place on a construction site in Rishon LeZion, Israel, on 29th January.

Local media reported that the drilling was part of a project to dismantle the bridge.

Two construction workers were reportedly hurt after their machines overturned when the concrete structure came crashing down.

Astonishingly, both survived, said local media.

One – a 55-year-old man – suffered a severe head injury, while the other – a 36-year-old man – sustained minor injuries to his limbs.

The former was unconscious when rescued, a paramedic told local media. His condition is now described as “moderate”.

After receiving first aid, both were rushed to hospital while police seized the construction manager at the site.

Police are now investigating how such a blunder came to pass.

One witness – motorist Dana Cohen – told local media: “From afar I thought that all the workers must be dead.

“They got out of it miraculously, I can’t believe something like this is happening in the heart of our country.”
