This is the moment Brazil icon Ronaldinho is seen playing footvolley in prison to pass the time.

Former Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho, 40, and his brother Roberto de Assis are being kept in a Specialised Unit in the Paraguayan capital Asuncion as they are under investigation for entering the country on fake passports.

Specialised Unit is a term used in Paraguay which refers to a prison where high-profile prisoners such as politicians and other public figures are kept.

The video shows the moment Ronaldinho plays footvolley with other inmates to pass the time in prison.

The former World Cup champion is first seen receiving a serve from an opposing player, controlling the ball with his right foot and sending it to his teammate.

His teammate then flicks it up for Ronaldinho to head back over the net and point continues back and forth before Ronaldhinho’s teammate heads the ball over the net, seemingly scoring a point for them.

Ronaldinho is seen kneeling on the beach volleyball court before scoring another point for his team with a well-placed header on the following point.

The Brazilian star and his teammate are then seen scoring one final time off a rival’s mistake as the video comes to an end shortly after their serve.

Ronaldinho went to Paraguay earlier this month to participate in a charity event called ‘Angelical Fraternity’ but he was detained by police after he and his brother allegedly used fake passports to enter the country.

Despite reportedly requesting house arrest on several occasions, Paraguay judge Clara Ruiz ordered their arrest saying that “there is a flight risk and there is a danger of obstruction.”

Ronaldinho’s defence claims the passport was given to him as a symbolic gift and he accidentally presented it at the airport thinking it was his Brazilian passport.

The investigation is ongoing.
