These impressive images show how an artist has spent his coronavirus isolation transforming his bedroom into an incredibly detailed ‘spaceship’ control room.

Local media report artist Ahmad Fathil Zakaria has been working on overhauling his bedroom since Malaysia ordered its citizens into lockdown on 18th March.

Zakaria shared images of the process on a social media group named ‘COVID-19 Season Extreme Decoration’ with the ‘before’ photos showing how his bedroom had drab green walls and barely any furniture.

He wrote on the photos, “okay, don’t laugh, this is what the room originally looked like. So shabby. Things hanging here and there.”

He shared his sketches for the design of the spaceship in the 68-square-foot room entitled “Extreme Makeover”.

He then transferred the sketches on the walls of his bedroom, firstly in chalk to ensure the 3D perspective was correct.

He then painted onto the walls once he was happy with the outlines, creating the door first before creating galaxies in the ‘windows’ of the spaceship.

The artist finished off the incredible makeover with LED light strips which frame the front ‘window’ and ceiling.

Videos show the artist giving slow-motion tours of the room halfway through the process and of the finished article.

Images show his unnamed three-year-old daughter in the intergalactic room and the father has now moved his bed out of the room to use it as a studio.
