This footage shows people going into a house without masks so they can film a suspected coronavirus patient being helped into an ambulance.

The incident was shot in Zimbabwe where local media were critical of the lack of facilities in preparation over the collection of the patient from her home, allegedly on the outskirts of Mbare in Harare, who was then taken to the Wilkins Infectious Disease Hospital.

As can be seen the ambulance staff have no stretcher to help the woman who is clearly faint and struggles to walk.

And when they get her to the ambulance, after the woman lies down on the makeshift bed inside, they then allow a relative without a mask to sit in the back with her for the journey to the hospital.

The cameraperson reported the patient, identified only by the name Junior, was infected with the coronavirus although local media did not say whether the diagnosis was confirmed, and the cameraperson also noted that she was having difficulty breathing.

Medics told the woman’s relatives that they can only confirm what she is suffering from after further testing at the Wilkins Infectious Disease Hospital. One of the relatives then climbed in the back of the ambulance without a mask and sat right next to the sick woman for the trip to hospital.

It is not yet known when the video was taken, but it was reportedly quite recent. iHarare is still working on confirming the date the video was recorded.

There are only reports of one death due to coronavirus but the Zimbabwean government has not made a statement on the number of infected cases in the country.

However, the Zimbabwean government said that all gatherings over 50 people will be banned and bars, nightclubs, gyms and swimming pools will be closed in an effort to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
