This is the moment a balding CEO in his 50s shoves and hits an opposing player during an amateur non-league match following a late tackle, leading to a five-year ban for the businessman.

Businessman Tong Jiaqi, 57, was representing his alma mater Renmin University of China in a match against China University of Geosciences when the on-field incident happened on 24th November.

Footage of the incident, which happened as Mr Tong’s opponents led 2-1, was filmed in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province in South China.

The clash happens after Mr Tong’s teammate sends a low cross into the opposition box and it is cleared by a defender.

Mr Tong, who is wearing the number 15 shirt, runs up to the rolling ball but his first touch is heavy, giving a defender the chance to close him down and challenge him.

The CEO of Guangzhou Chenghe Technology Co Ltd nicks the ball before his opponent – wearing 26 – who accidentally stamps on his right foot.

The businessman is left furious at the late tackle and proceeds to shove the opposition player before hitting him over the head.

Mr Tong was sent off by the referee, but it is unclear what the final score was.

The University Alumni Football League, which hosts the annual contest, announced two days later that Mr Tong would be banned for five years and fined 500 RMB (55 GBP) for his unsporting behaviour.
