This is the moment a chubby Mexican cop removes dozens of sweets from his uniform after being caught stealing by a supermarket worker, leading to the officer’s dismissal from the force.

The bizarre scene was filmed at a supermarket in the municipality of Comalcalco in the Mexican state of Tabasco.

The footage shows the sheepish cop removing dozens of products from the pockets and folds of his uniform.

The compliant cop even lowers his face mask when the supermarket worker asks him to show his face to the camera.

The worker also said that he had seen the cop allegedly stealing from the supermarket before, and he can be heard in the footage telling him: “I’ve been ‘hunting’ you for days, matey.”

Among the stolen items were juice, sweets and chocolates, according to the news site Debate.

The incident led to the officer being sacked from the police force.

After showing his face to the camera, the Comalcalco Public Security Directorate identified the officer as Antonio ‘N’ and removed him from his duties.

The local authorities said in a statement: “Antonio ‘N’ has been removed from his duties as a public servant and is now at the disposal of the comptroller’s office for the initiation of the related administrative procedure for the disqualification from the public service of said officer for contravening the principles and guidelines that rule public servants.”
