This is the shocking moment a man tries to shove his girlfriend under an oncoming bus during an explosive row on a zebra crossing.

The incident took place in the city of Suzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu on 5th May.

The suspect, name not disclosed, has been arrested by the police following the incident.

Bus dash-cam footage of the man apparently pushing his girlfriend towards the oncoming vehicle has been widely shared on the Chinese social network Douyin.

In the clip, the couple is seen walking across the road on a zebra crossing while apparently engaged in a heated argument.

The suspect manhandles the young woman before pointing her in the direction of the oncoming bus and shoving her hard.

The unbalanced woman stumbles forwards and appears to fall to the ground right in front of the bus.

However, the bus driver managed to stop in time and the young woman was not harmed by the vehicle, according to the news site Baidu.

Meanwhile, the suspect has reportedly been detained in police custody as the investigation continues.
