This champion marathon runner who is seven months pregnant has continued her training and is telling other women “to exercise during pregnancy because you will feel much better”.

Spanish marathon runner Clara Simal, 32, currently lives in the Spanish capital Madrid where she trains to run marathons and works as an architect.

She is currently around seven months pregnant and made the news public on her social media after putting up a post saying: “Athletic objectives will have to wait this season.

Simal spoke to Spanish television channel Antena 3 and assured “I can continue running during the pregnancy” saying: “The doctor told me I can do exercise. Women should be encouraged to exercise during pregnancy because you feel much better.”

Simal went on to warn: “Make sure the baby is never missing air. Your breathing should good and you should feel comfortable.”

Despite her continued training, Simal admits her intensity went down because “I would get much more tired and my heart rate would be much higher”

Local media report Simal lowered the intensity further after six and a half months pregnant but plans “to train to the very last moment” that she can.

Simal won the Spanish marathon championship in 2017 and was runner-up the following year.
