4 Jurassic World Crew Members Have COVID In Malta

Four crew members working on the next ‘Jurassic World’ film in Malta have tested positive for COVID-19.

The local health authorities in the Mediterranean archipelago confirmed the new virus cases to newspaper The Malta Independent.

The film’s local production team said in a statement: “Four members of the advanced crew currently working in Malta have tested positive for COVID-19, and were immediately put into isolation.

“Anyone that may have been in contact with these crew members has been contacted and are also isolating. There are currently no cast in Malta and there are no delays to production at this time.”

As filming starts at the end of August, none of the A-list cast members have arrived in Malta yet.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Universal Pictures’ ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ would including shooting locations in Valletta, Vittoriosa, Melliena and Pembroke in Malta.

The Malta Film Commission confirmed that shooting was to begin by the end of August.

Around 5,000 swab tests were supplied to the 1,000-member crew currently in Malta so they can be checked three times a week during filming.

The previous Jurassic World movie ‘Fallen Kingdom’, released in 2018, made 1.3 billion USD (997 million GBP) worldwide against a budget of 170 million USD (130 million GBP).

The latest film is set for release in June 2021 and other shooting locations include Canada, Hawaii, and London’s Pinewood Studios.

‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ will star Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.
