20 Year Old Who Died In Car Crash Was Really Teen That Borrowed Pals ID To Go Clubbing

An Italian teenager killed in a car crash was wrongly identified as a 20-year-old Albanian man after he borrowed his pal’s ID to get into a club.

Not only the teen but also other underage passengers in the Fiat 500L were reportedly carrying other people’s IDs when the vehicle crashed, killing Nathan Franchini and injuring his friends.

The car crashed into a tree when the reportedly drunk driver lost control at an S-curve and the vehicle was badly mangled in the crash.

The incident took place on a road in the comune of Ricione in the Italian province of Rimini shortly before 7am on Sunday, 28th November.

The vehicle’s occupants were on their way home from a long night out clubbing, with the police initially identifying the deceased person as a 20-year-old Albanian man.

However, the victim has now been identified as 19-year-old Franchini, who had been using his friend’s ID to get into the over-20s nightclub.

The other occupants of the vehicle were injured in the crash and were taken to hospitals in the nearby cities of Rimini and Cesena.

The most seriously injured survivor is a 17-year-old girl of Albanian origin. At the time of reporting, she remained in intensive care with a reserved prognosis, according to media outlet Fanpage.

Other occupants of the car were also found to be in possession of others’ IDs, and the 20-year-old driver was found to be four times over the drink-drive limit, according to Fanpage.

The same media outlet reported that the tarmac may have been wet at the time and that the vehicle may have hit the central reservation before hitting the tree.

The Rimini Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the incident.
