These images show an almost 10-foot-long crocodile which has shocked locals and tourists after it was seen on a popular tourist beach.
The pictures were taken at the Pie de la Cuesta beach in the major seaport city of Acapulco, located in the Mexican state of Guerrero on Tuesday, 22nd September.
Authorities were contacted shortly after it was spotted but remain on high alert as they were unable to capture the animal to ensure its safety and the safety of the people in the area.
The images show the large croc later seen in front of a restaurant where people were able to take pictures before it walked off.
The local government issued a statement saying: “According to the restaurant worker’s reports, the crocodile measures about 3 metres (9.8 feet) in length.
“It got out of the ocean and stayed on the sand for several minutes allowing them to take photographs.”
The snaps also show several members of the General Coordination of Civil Protection and Firemen where the reptile was spotted peering into the ocean hoping to locate the dangerous animal.
It is speculated the crocodile came from a nearby area which serves as a natural habitat where the Coyuca Lagoon and ocean meet.
Authorities are “imploring citizen, service people and visitors to exercise extreme caution on the sand or when going into the water” and they are asked to report any sightings.
