Zambian Prophets Attempt To Recreate Christs 3 Day Resurrection Ends In Tragedy

A self-proclaimed prophet’s attempt to recreate the Resurrection of Jesus has ended in tragedy after he was buried alive and left in the earth for three days at his own request – and then found to be dead when he was dug up.

Zambian pastor James Sakara, 22, was found dead when locals near the town of Chadiza in Zambia’s Eastern Province dug him up after three days in the soil.

Sakara, pastor of the Zion Church in Chadiza, convinced his flock that he could resurrect in three days like Jesus Christ, and got three church members to help him dig a grave, according to local media.

His helpers also reportedly tied his hands before burying him alive in the shallow grave and returning in three days to ‘welcome him back’.

Local media said members of his congregation performed spiritual rituals after they pulled the pastor’s lifeless body from the pit and realised his resurrection attempt had failed when their exercises proved fruitless.

Before attempting the resurrection, Sakara quoted from the Bible and explained that Christ’s instruction to his disciples to ‘do this in remembrance of me’ on the night he was betrayed actually referred to his resurrection, not just the use of bread and wine at Holy Communion.

Three church members volunteered to assist the pastor with his recreation, and one has handed himself over to the police. The other two are still wanted and are believed to be on the run.

The pastor left behind a young wife who is pregnant, according to reports.
