A young TikToker with almost two million followers has drowned in a reservoir at a gathering with family and friends in Brazil.
Tragic Gabriel Netto drowned in the reservoir in Juiz de Fora on 4th February.
Emergency services told how Gabriel, 20, plunged into the water and lost consciousness.
His friends managed to pull him from the reservoir following a tense 40-minute search, but paramedics could only pronounce him dead.
At the time of reporting, it was not known what had caused him to pass out.
At the time of writing, Gabriel had 1.7 million followers on TikTok, where he shared snapshots from his daily life, as well as pranks on his mum.
His sister Aline wrote online: “Even knowing that one day life ends, we are never prepared to lose someone.
“Gabriel left a legacy, made many people smile, and is now dearly missed.
“It is with much pain and sadness that I, Gabriel’s sister, come to wish all his fans strength. We’re all in this together.
“We will always remember him with happiness. Despite the pain and longing, he left wonderful memories.
“May he have a good rest and watch over us wherever he is. He is certainly shining in the sky and very proud of us all. Just as we are proud of the amazing dreamer he was.
“Be with God. A big hug to everyone.”
She also wrote: “Today, I didn’t just lose a brother, I lost a part of my soul. My friend, adviser, companion in life, work, parties, TikTok…
“A big part of me has gone with you, I was with you until the last minute of your life. I am forever grateful for our union. You were and always will be our Gabriel.
“This is the greatest pain I have ever experienced in my life. Losing my brother is losing part of my life, it’s seeing happiness disappear, the joy of existing.
“With you, there was never a bad time. I will never forget the last smile you gave me before everything happened and I will never forget those 20 years I lived with you.
“Rest in peace, my brother, and watch over me if you can.
“I will be here, crying and praying for you, honouring our relationship, as well as your name and infinite legacy of love and friendship. I love you forever.”
