This is the moment a female cyclist makes a lucky escape after narrowly dodging a huge falling tree.

The biker – in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, southeast China – was directly underneath the tree on a city street when it started to fall.

Video footage of the drama shows the bike cycling under the trees branched when it began to sway unsteadily.

Within seconds the giant trunk had crashed down to the ground engulfing the cyclist and her bike.

Then moments later she emerged unscathed shaking her head in disbelief at her narrow escape.

The video ends with the shocked woman grabbing her head with both her hands.

It is currently unclear what made the tree collapse.

The video was shared on Douyin, the Chinese version of the popular social app TikTok, by user ‘Wang Ziquan’s Diary’ on August 12th, 2022, where it sparked a lengthy discussion between netizens.

Some accused her of being at fault for finding herself in the dangerous situation, stating that ‘women will be women’.

Others defended her by recognising how obstructed her field of view must have been due to the crash helmet she was wearing.

However, they all agreed that her near escape was nothing short of a miracle.
