WONDER WOMAN: Waffle House Girl Branded Superhero Is Blacklisted

A fast food cook who starred in a bizarre viral video of a violent brawl in a Waffle House branch has told how she has been blacklisted by bosses.

Waffle chef Halie B. was hailed a hero when the video emerged last month for her cool-headed response to the brawl.

The fight broke out eight months ago, according to Halie, when a group of customers sat in part of the restaurant in Austin, Texas, USA, that had been closed off.

When they were asked to leave, they began threatening staff and even jumped over the counter to attack them.

Halie was given the superhero name Waffle House Girl online after the footage showed her catching a metal chair with one hand and swatting it to the floor.

It goes on to show her keeping the rioting customers at bay by throwing sugar holders at them.

She said: “They were being rude, belligerent. I finished what I started. That’s really it.”

But now the fast food worker says that since she left the restaurant after the brawl, she has been able to get another job with the group.

She said in a YouTube video. “I can’t ever work for Waffle House again.

“I tried working for another sometime earlier this year, and they found out I was blacklisted.”

The riot happened in September 2021 but the video only emerged last month in response to another similar incident in a Waffle House.

Civil rights lawyer Scott Hechinger said: “I was curious why Waffle House was trending. I figured it was a fight.

“But after going down the rabbit hole, watching various clips, I‘ve come to the conclusion that this was no fight.

“This was the global coronation of a new superhero. ‘Waffle House Girl.’”

Some commentators said she should be the next Wonder Woman after a clip emerged of the superhero decking a villain with a chair.

And even former Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter tweeted: “I trained at Waffle House.”

In her video, Halie tells how the group in the restaurant turned nasty when they were asked to leave the closed-off area.

She said: “That’s how night shift works, and it’s sad. It’s not safe at night, so we have to do what we can.”

She said that initially, she had put the whole incident behind her and apart from one of the store managers reprimanding her for throwing the sugar shaker, nothing happened.

But a few months later, when she left to take another job she was told she had been blacklisted.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for her to spend on whatever she wants.
