This is the moment a mass brawl erupts at the baggage claim carousel at one of the busiest airports in the world.

Footage from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, in the USA, shows passengers rolling on the floor and trading punches as people wait for their bags.

The passengers – all young people – are seen grappling and pulling one another’s hair as other fliers in the airport’s Terminal 3 keep back and call for security.

Hats, sunglasses, shoes and fists fly during the vicious punch-up that seemed to have sprung out of nowhere.

One pair seems to almost tumble onto the bag carousel, which would have taken them behind the scenes at the airport.

Others are so tangled up they have to be separated by other people during the fight on Monday, 22nd May.

The police said that two suspects – named as Christopher Hampton, 18, of Maywood, and 20-year-old Tembra Hicks of Carol Stream – have been charged with misdemeanour battery.

They are accused of punching a 24-year-old woman, who has not been named.

Local media reported that the fight started after a verbal row between passengers as they were getting off a plane.

It is currently unclear if further charges will follow regarding the other people involved in the brawl.

The Chicago Department of Aviation said in a statement: “Safety and security are always the top priorities of the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA).

“We work closely with all of our federal partners present at O’Hare and Midway International Airports and the Chicago Police Department to ensure that everyone is safe when they are in our facilities.”
