This is the moment a woman face-plants on the road as a thief on a scooter tries to nick her purse.

Traffic cameras from Yuhua Road in Tangshan City in North China’s Hebei Province show the woman walking alone at night when the two would-be crooks on the scooter target her.

They ride past her from the left and the passenger riding pillion reaches out to snatch the woman’s purse, which is hanging from her left shoulder.

He pulls the purse chain, but it catches on the woman’s arm, causing her to lose her footing.

The footage shows the poor victim stumbling forwards before face-planting on the asphalt from the force of the attempted handbag snatching.

The scooter thief is ultimately unsuccessful and has no choice but to ride away with his accomplice, but the woman is left injured on the road as the video ends.

It is unclear whether the woman went to the police, but members of the public appear to have notified authorities online.

Social media users have also criticised the nearby pedestrian for her apparent apathy.

‘Yu Mutou Jiushi Wo’ wrote: “And that passer-by just continues calmly like it’s none of her business.”
