This little baby has lost his unvaccinated Wisconsin mother who died with COVID-19 after undergoing an emergency C-section.
Adrienne Chandler, 38, died of kidney failure as she battled the novel coronavirus and died three days after giving birth by C-section, according to her ex-husband David Henderson.
Henderson called his ex-wife’s untimely death “gut-wrenching”.
Chandler and Henderson had three children together before divorcing earlier this year.
Before her death, Chandler had just given birth to her fourth child with new partner Ryan Emperley.
Henderson said on Facebook on 1st December: “We had our problems living together since we divorced earlier this year, but both of our undying love for our children was absolute.
“I never in a million years expected to be telling our kids yesterday that their mother died and I can’t imagine a pain like that in my life.
“I expected to be jointly raising these kids long into adulthood and both of us using our life experiences to guide them along this crazy ride of life we have.”
Chandler’s newborn Roman is reportedly doing well and her new partner Emperley said he hopes the baby will grow up to be like his mum.
He told local media: “(Chandler) has a beautiful soul and my heart will always belong to her, she had a smile that would light a room and bring the absolute joy to everyone’s life.”
Emperley said the victim needed intubation while fighting COVID-19 and a C-section was carried out to save the baby.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help care for the victim’s children.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office said Chandler was unvaccinated and confirmed that her death was linked to the novel coronavirus.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns that pregnant women face an increased risk of severe COVID-19 symptoms and many experts recommend they get the jab.
