A little girl narrowly avoided getting buried beneath an enormous pile of snow collapsing from the roof as she headed home after building a snowman.

The near miss was captured on surveillance footage outside a house in Zhangjiajie, in China’s southern Hunan Province, at around noon on Sunday, 4th February.

In the video, two young girls were seen standing outside, taking advantage of the cold weather after having built a small snowman.

As soon as playtime ended, one of them could be seen heading towards the warm house as a man signalled her to come inside.

And she barely dodged being buried under a massive amount of snow that suddenly fell from the roof.

Luckily, she reacted quickly and ran under the eaves. The other girl had been standing a bit further and also made it
out safely.

Netizens on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, where the video was shared a day later, applauded her fast response.

One user titled ‘Han Di’ commented: “My son just encountered the same thing as her. Fortunately, he also ran quickly.”

User ‘Mother of second child (second trimester)’ wrote: “The girl reacted very quickly without even looking.”

And ‘Caramel Chestnut’ said: “If it were me, I would’ve definitely turned around to take a look before running.”
