A dad in eastern China has shared his bizarre way to instantly put his crying baby to sleep – by sticking a stuffed toy with a suction cup to its forehead.

The father, not named in local media in Jining, Shandong Province, said that his six-month-old plays with the toy every day.

A video put up on Douyin – the Chinese version of TikTok – shows him working his magic and getting the baby to stop crying and sleep in just seconds.

Dad can be seen performing a short ‘mantra’ for his heavy-eyed child while mum watches on in apparent disbelief.

Their baby is immediately swayed by dad’s unusual trick that involves him picking up a stuffed toy with a suction cup on one end and sticking it to the child’s forehead.

Moments later, the baby is amazingly fast asleep.

The dad said he was only playing around with the toy and did not expect the baby to doze off so easily.

Netizens were also amazed by how well dad’s special trick seemed to work.

User ‘Ranran⁵¹¹’ wrote: “Is this a switch? It fell asleep so soon? Why isn’t it like this in my house?”

And user ‘Tao Xiaotao’ said: “I’m so envious, the two I gave birth to are here to kill me.”
