This is the moment a 70-year-old man who got trapped in a deep, narrow well gets rescued by two kind-hearted strangers in eastern China.
The old man, who was not named in local media, accidentally fell into the dried-up well while picking up branches beside a road in Bozhou, Anhui province, on 26th November.
But he failed to see a 12-foot-deep well in the undsergrowth and fell straight down it.
With no mobile phone, he had to wait more than an hour for passers-by to hear his calls for help.
His rescuer – named as Mr Li in local media – was walking past the well along with a friend on their way home from work.
The old man heard them talking nearby and began yelling for help.
Li immediately rushed to check and found the man stuck in a narrow well that was more than twice his height.
Li filmed the moment they were getting a car tow rope ready to pull the old man out and talked with him in the meanwhile.
The video shows that despite having spent some time in a desperate situation, the old man still kept a positive attitude as he was chatting with his rescuers calmly and was even laughing.
Moments later, Mr Li and his friend used the rope tied to a car to pull the pensioner out.
“It was originally a tragedy, but it was turned into a comedy,” Li said, referring to the old man in good spirits.
