This contestant on the Mexican version of The Voice Kids has been hospitalised in a serious condition after her hair became stuck on a fairground ride and part of her scalp was removed.

Marian Lorette, six years old, suffered the accident at a fundraising event at the school she attends in the city of Saltillo, in the north-eastern Mexican state of Coahuila.

The youngster reportedly got her hair stuck on a “mechanical ride” which tugged her locks when the operator stopped it suddenly to allow other children onto it.

She reportedly had part of her scalp removed in the accident and is in a serious condition in hospital.

The singer Lucero, who is the girl’s coach on the show, wrote online: “I want to ask you with all my heart to join in praying and giving positive energy for the beautiful princess Marian Lorette de Leon as she is going through a very delicate health issue at the moment.

“We’ll keep on praying together with positive energy for the little princess Marian Lorette so that she will recover soon and keep on sharing joy everywhere”.

A message posted on the girl’s social media page read: “Marian’s family appreciate all the messages, prayers and positive energy so that Marian will recover soon. Thanks.”

Marian caught the judges attention during casting for her rendition of (Do You Want To Build A Snowman?) from the Disney film ‘Frozen’.

Marian was the opening act last weekend for singer Morat’s concert in Saltillo.
