This is the moment Colombian pop sensation Shakira shows how to perform the ‘champeta’ dance that wowed global audiences during her Super Bowl halftime show with Jennifer Lopez.
The 43-year-old ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker shared the video on Instagram for her huge army of 63.3 million followers during a rehearsal in Miami in the US.
The footage shows the curvy singer performing the ‘champeta’, a traditional Colombian music and dance, in a large hall with her 18-year-old choreographer Liz Dany.
The pair encouraged others to take part in what has now become a new online craze known as the ‘Champeta Challenge’.
Shakira accompanied the video with the message: “Directors, producers, cameras… everybody is learning to dance Champeta!”
The ‘Whenever, Wherever’ singer’s video has gone viral with 4 million views in one day.
Netizen ‘EdnaMontes3’ said: “You are amazing.”
‘Rudybundini’ commented: “You are the queen of many talents.”
Shakira and Jennifer Lopez wowed global audiences with their halftime routine at the Super Bowl LIV in Miami which saw the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20.
The halftime show featured guest performers J Balvin and Bad Bunny as well as Lopez’s daughter Emme Muniz.
Lopez’s five outfits were designed by Versace, and her styling team designed 213 costumes and 143 pairs of shoes for Jennifer and her dancers.
