Ukrainian Paratroopers Take Out Russian Tank Convoy Using American Javelins

These images show Ukrainian paratroopers taking out a Russian armoured convoy made up of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles with the help of American Javelins.

The footage begins by showing a Ukrainian soldier firing an anti-tank missile before the images cut to Russian war machines exploding on the battlefield.

Russian soldiers can be seen fleeing the area, with their vehicles on fire or blown to pieces.

The images were obtained from the 79th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces on Tuesday, 28th February, along with a statement saying: “In one battle, a paratrooper of the 79th destroyed eight units of enemy armoured vehicles.

“Paratroopers of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade continue to hold back the enemy in Maryinka and its vicinity.

“Yes, the other day the enemy launched a massive assault on Ukrainian positions, using more than a dozen units of armoured vehicles.

“According to the enemy’s design, such an armoured fist was supposed to break through the defence of the maroon berets in order to attack the Maryinka defenders from the flank. However, the courage and military skill of the paratroopers stood in the way of the Russian invaders.

“Skillfully applying the manoeuvre, constantly changing firing positions, the anti-tank reserve soldier destroyed eight units of armoured vehicles, including five tanks and three BMPs of the enemy, with the help of the American Javelin anti-tank system.

“The work was completed by the artillery of the brigade, which inflicted powerful fire damage on other armoured vehicles of the enemy. In addition, the accurate fire from small arms, with which the paratroopers met the enemy infantry, did not leave the enemy any chance of success.

“In total, five enemy tanks and seven BMPs were destroyed in this heavy battle.

“Having suffered serious losses in manpower and equipment, the enemy was forced to retreat.

“Together to victory!

“Glory to Air Assault Forces! Glory to Ukraine!”
