Ukrainian Forces Destroy Russian Artillery Near Soledar Using British M777 Howitzer

Ukrainian forces have destroyed a piece of Russian artillery near Soledar using an M777 howitzer.

The M777 is a towed artillery piece manufactured by the British defence company BAE Systems.

The footage reportedly shows Ukrainian artillerymen destroying the Russian howitzer, reportedly a D30, after a Ukrainian air recon unit communicated its coordinates to them.

The video shows a huge explosion in an urban area as the Russian weaponry is reportedly hit by the Ukrainian ordnance.

The images were obtained from the 30th Prince Konstanty Ostrogski Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Tuesday, 4th April, along with a statement saying: “Minus one D30 gun!

“Reconnaissance of the 30th Mechanized Brigade found an enemy D30 cannon near Soledar and adjusted the fire of the artillerymen of the 45th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The target was seriously damaged by an accurate hit of the M777 – it is almost impossible to restore.”

The images and statement were also relayed by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
