This is the moment a metro station security guard dodges a commuter’s flying fists before flooring the passenger with three consecutive punches to his face.

The dramatic security checkpoint row happened on the afternoon of 28th June when passenger Mr Li, 55, allegedly failed to run his rucksack through an X-ray scanner.

Authorities say the uniformed duty officer, whose identity has not been revealed, stopped Mr Li and asked him to follow security protocol at Zhaojiabang Road Station, which is on Line 9 of the Shanghai Metro in East China.

An argument is said to have followed when Mr Li was asked to present his rucksack and open it in order to have its contents inspected.

Witnesses captured part of the train station row, with the video showing Mr Li twice swinging his right fist at the security guard’s face.

However, the uniformed officer expertly dodges both punches and responds with three consecutive blows of his own.

Each of the quick right-left-right punches land on the commuter’s face, and he is floored in seconds.

The video ends with the security guard kicking the passenger in the head, sending his dress shoe flying in the process.

Neither man is thought to have been seriously injured, with the police saying the duty officer has been dismissed as an investigation continues.
