This is the moment a public transport perv punches a young woman in the face before fleeing a packed train carriage as passengers sit idly by after she twice refused to give him her number.

The incredible incident was captured on CCTV in Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei Province, on Line 2 of the Wuhan Metro.

The clip shows the man, surnamed Huang, with his phone in hand, speaking to the young commuter sitting in a seat in front of him.

He bends over, reportedly asking for her number to add her on instant-messaging application WeChat- China’s equivalent to chat app WhatsApp – but she says no.

The footage shows the determined Huang, who is reportedly married, leaning down again to try his luck a second time.

He is turned down a second time and continues to stand in the same spot near the train doors as they pull into the station Optics Valley Square.

Huang then suddenly lifts his right arm and strikes the woman in the face with a backhand blow before sprinting out the car doors.

Authorities later captured Huang, who police say admitted he wanted to chat with the “beautiful woman” because it would “give him face”.

However, when she rejected it, it “lost him face”, and he struck her as “revenge”.

The police handed him a 10-day jail sentence, fining him 200 RMB (22 GBP), after finding him guilty of assault.

The woman Zhang, who was identified by her surname, was not seriously injured during the attack.
