Tourists Use Fishing Net To Pull Trapped Deer From Icy Lake In Chinese Nature Spot

This is the moment a group of tourists make a big catch when they use a fishing net to hook it round the horns of a young deer trapped in an icy lake in a Chinese nature spot.

The rescue was filmed at the Chengde Mountain Resort Scenic Spot in the city of Chengde in the Chinese province of Hebei.

In the footage, a man is seen venturing onto the thin ice with rope tied around his waist as he makes his way to the stranded animal in the middle of the lake.

In the second clip, the rescuers manage to hook the deer with a fishing net and, while forming a human chain, they manage to pull it out of the water.

Park visitor Ms Liu said she saw small deer trapped in a lake and other bystanders went to the bank to try to rescue it.

Several people formed a human chain and the person at the front used a catch pole to pull the animal out of the water.

When the man eventually hooked the deer, two helpers joined him to pull the animal out of the sticky lakebed.

In the end, with the concerted efforts of everyone involved, the deer was successfully rescued.

Ms Liu said: “The catch pole was brought halfway through the attempt. It was relatively small, but the deer’s head was hooked at that time.”

She added that the entire rescue lasted around 20 minutes and eight kind visitors assisted.

A spokesperson for Chengde Mountain Resort Scenic Spot told local media that there are many deer in the area and visitors should contact staff members before attempting a rescue.
