This is the moment two cars collided at a crossroads before one fishtails and wipes out an unsuspecting woman on a zebra crossing.

The freak accident was captured by a traffic camera in the city of Foshan, which is in South China’s Guangdong Province.

Video of the incident, which police have confirmed took place on 11th December, shows the female pedestrian preparing to cross a small street when two black saloon cars approach the junction.

Neither car appears to slow down, and one ends up hitting the other side-on, the video shows.

The vehicle that is struck from the right side spins out of control, and the back end of the car slams into the woman who has no time to react.

The pedestrian is sent flying from the four-way intersection and lands on a nearby field of grass.

Foshan police said the incident in the city’s Shunde District resulted in injuries for the young woman who was later taken to hospital for treatment.

She was not in life-threatening condition, the authorities said, while the occupants of the two cars are not believed to have been harmed.

The incident is still under investigation, and no arrests had been announced at the time of writing.
