Top Soap Star Dies At 41 After Eating Spoiled Pork

This popular Mexican actor- famous for featuring in top soap ‘The Lord of The Skies’ – has died aged 41 after reportedly eating spoiled pork.

Mexican star Sebastian Ferrat is believed to have died of cysticercosis, a parasitic tissue infection caused by larval cysts of the tapeworm Taenia solium.

The actor, who starred in the US soap opera ‘El Senor de los Cielos’ (The Lord of the Skies’) contracted the illness in October, but only confirmed it on social media on 20th December.

Responding to claims that he was battling for his life, he posted: “I am fine, do not worry. I am just keeping away from social media, but thanks for your support and comments.”

The actor was hospitalised in his hometown Mexicali in the north-western Mexican state of Baja California and was only visited by close family members, according to reports.

He is believed to have contracted cysticercosis after eating spoiled pork, according to local media.

The news of his untimely death has stunned fans and one of his last messages on Instagram revealed that he had just been offered a main part in an upcoming Netflix series.

Ferrat’s TV career started in 2001 when he starred in the series ‘Lo Que Callamos Las Mujeres’ (‘What Shuts Women Up’) followed by ‘Se Busca un Hombre’ (‘Looking For a Man’) and ‘La Bella y Las Bestias’ (Beauty and the Beasts), among others.

Other Latin celebrities such as writer Diego Enrique Osorno sent messages of condolences following Ferrat’s tragic death.

It is unclear whether the local authorities are investigating the matter.
