This is the heart-stopping moment a toddler rolls out the back seat of his mother’s car as it turns and tumbles onto a busy road in front of a cop.

Footage from the city of Nan’an in China’s eastern province of Fujian then shows a couple on a scooter managing to brake just in time before running the young boy over in the incident that happened on 17th January.

In the video, the boy, who the officer said was between three to four years old, suddenly falls out the back door as his mum makes a left turn.

The tot lands on the ground face first and is nearly hit by a scooter which stops about 3 feet away.

Motorcycle policeman Chen Zhimou, who can be seen standing on a street corner, rushes to the boy’s aid.

Another child, around eight, runs to check on the younger boy after reportedly exiting the back of the same car, which was driven by their mum.

Officer Chen said: “The boy was suddenly flung out the car so I can went over and picked him up.

“The driver must’ve forgotten to activate the child lock, so the boy managed to open the door.”

The policeman said the tot’s mouth was covered in blood from the fall, and he asked the mother to drive the boy to the nearest hospital.

Reports said the boy was fortunately not seriously injured.
